Northfield, Ill.,July6,2026 – Medline (Nasdaq: MDLN) has announced a lease agreement for an existing 925,000-square-foot warehouse in Tracy, Calif., for immediate occupancy, as well as a 709,000-square-foot facility nearby in Stockton, Calif., for use in January 2027. These two facilities total more than 1.6 million square feet of new medical supplies distribution center space and more than supplant the 1 million-square-foot Tracy facility that was destroyed by fire on June 11. This new capacity to serve regional healthcare providers also represents a 45% expansion of Medline’s customer-facing Northern California footprint from just one month ago.

Medline’s newly leased 925,000-square-foot distribution center is located on Sugar Road in Tracy, less than 10 miles from the previous Medline site in Tracy. Already largely built to meet Medline’s high-volume distribution needs, this facility is planned to start accepting deliveries from the company’s vast distribution network and start delivering to customers from Medline’s dedicated fleet of MedTrans trucks in the coming months. This new facility also is expected to eventually house many of the same AI-powered technologies already common at other Medline facilities.

Additionally, Medline’s new 709,000-square-foot facility in Stockton is planned to open in January 2027, and alongside the new Tracy facility will help service healthcare providers and Medline customers across Northern California.

Across the state of California, Medline’s distribution center footprint is expected to continue to grow and reach nearly 5 million square feet by mid-2027. This includes a new 1 million-square-foot distribution center being built in Perris.

“The Medline team’s resilience, determination and commitment to serving healthcare providers have been nothing short of extraordinary,” said Jim Boyle, CEO of Medline. “Securing and standing up a new facility in less than one month — and increasing our customer-facing footprint in Northern California by an incredible 45% — speaks to our incredible dedication to making healthcare run better every day for our customers.”

Doug Golwas, Medline’s chief commercial officer, added: “We are doing everything we can to meet the needs of our customers as they seek to best serve their patients. We are grateful for the collaborative teamwork from healthcare providers across the West Coast over the past few weeks as we worked to get them what they need, when and where they need it. We believe these new and expanded facilities will make this process even smoother in the weeks and months ahead.”

Johnny Glover, senior director of operations for Medline’s original site in Tracy, will continue as the leader for the new Tracy facility.

“I could not be prouder of our team and the way they’ve responded in the face of adversity,” Glover said. “The team’s commitment to our healthcare customers and their patients who rely on us every day is what is allowing us to keep serving our customers during an incredibly challenging time.”

Medline Team Updates

Medline is focused on supporting our teammates in Tracy.

We are extremely grateful that every employee was evacuated safely and all are accounted for.

We understand the emotions and disruption that many Medline employees and team members are experiencing with this event. Medline continues to support affected employees through financial assistance, reimbursement for lost and damaged items, counseling resources though our Employee Assistance Program, and a staffed command center and hotline providing updates in English and Spanish.

Where possible, in collaboration with local officials and Clean Harbors, Medline is also actively recovering and returning employees’ personal belongings – including vehicles, wallets and other items. Medline is towing employee vehicles to a safe location near the facility’s outer perimeter and assessing damage. Before returning vehicles to employees, Medline and its partner Servpro are professionally cleaning the vehicles and validating functionality.

The Tracy site held regular safety drills as outlined and required by OSHA, including an emergency evacuation drill on site on April 15, 2026.  Medline’s safety protocols and Emergency Action Plan worked as designed during the June 11 fire, with appropriate head counts and muster (assembly) points utilized as outlined in the Emergency Action PlanMedline’s top priority was to get employees to a safe location outside the building and then off siteEmployee safety comes first during an incident.

Site and Community Clean-up Updates

Medline is focused on supporting the Traccommunity.

Demolition and environmental clean-up is underway at the site, with teams coordinating closely with local officials and Clean Harbors, our third-party environmental response experts.

Clean Harbors also continues the cleanup of public areas and private residences in the area. For cleanup related inquiries, residents can contact Clean Harbors at 209-751-1888 (hotline staffed daily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT).

Most of the medical supplies previously stored in the Tracy warehouse are used in common healthcare settings, and as such, many are flammable but are not harmfulClean Harbors has concluded rigorous testing and determined that fire debris that fell on residences in the community is non-hazardous, a finding that has been shared with local agencies. Additional testing is being conducted to confirm these initial results.

Healthcare Customer Updates

Medline is focused on avoiding disruption of product deliveries to customers.

Our command center has been operating since the incident, and the Medline team continues to execute our network contingency plan and leverage secondary and tertiary distribution centers.

Medline continues shipping products 24/7 to healthcare providers. Our priority remains restoring inventory flow to stabilize fill rates as recovery work progresses. Medline is actively working to expand delivery and inventory capacity to swiftly restore full operational capacity to operations in Northern California.

We have also boosted regional staffing, regional inventory and transportation capacity through increased use of MedTrans trucks, third-party carriers, and truck relay operations to accelerate product movement throughout the impacted region.

The Tracy facility is part of our expansive distribution network, and specifically a local distribution center largely serving healthcare providers across Northern California. The Tracy facility primarily functioned as a fulfillment center of customer demand, distributing Medline Brand products and third-party products to local and regional customers. Medline's local transship location in Manteca, Calif., continues to operate normally.
