Summit Health Inks New Medical-Surgical Agreement with Medline
Distribution capabilities across continuum of care drive prime vendor partnership

Northfield, Ill., June 28, 2018 – Medline has signed a new medical-surgical distribution agreement with Summit Health, spanning four facilities across South Central Pennsylvania. The three-year, $9.5 million annual agreement provides Summit Health with a greater breadth of products.
Medline Vice President of Corporate Sales, Ron Barrett, credits stable, yet flexible, distribution service and expertise as major contributors to the agreement. “As a strategic partner with deep knowledge and experience serving the continuum of care, Medline can quickly deliver the products and technology Summit Health needs when and where they need it. They recognize that advantage.”
Summit Health is a not-for-profit health care system with more than 40 locations across Pennsylvania’s Franklin County, including two award-winning hospitals, walk-in care centers and a women’s health center.
“We discovered Medline’s unique business model as a privately-owned, vertically-integrated company sets them apart,” said Summit Health Vice President for Supply Chain, Bruce Kehr. “Medline had already proven its manufacturing expertise as Summit Health’s sterile procedure tray provider. The high level of local service we experienced led us to explore their distribution capabilities. It became clear that Medline is Summit Health’s ideal strategic partner as we begin to transform our distribution processes into a more agile, optimized system.”
The new agreement is effective through April 2021.
