Medline, a leading global manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies and clinical solutions, today announced the appointment of Ernie Philip as the next president of Medline Canada.
Philip comes to Medline from Xerox Canada, where he worked for 19 years, starting as a sales manager and serving in various leadership roles in the last 10 years. Most recently, he was senior vice president who was responsible for the Xerox services business, including financial performance, strategy and growth plans, organization design, mergers and acquisitions, and sales.
“At Xerox, Ernie focused on building and growing new lines of business, which will be a part of his responsibilities at Medline,” says Kristofer Howard, Medline chief financial officer. “He will continue to grow our healthcare business responsible for both the Medline product offering and Medical Mart distribution services.” Medline expanded its comprehensive product and service portfolio through the acquisition of Toronto-based Medical Mart in 2016.
“I am very excited to have someone of Ernie’s caliber to lead our team in Canada, which represents one of the largest medical supply businesses in this strategically important market,” explains Howard, who is responsible for the Medline Canadian business. “Ernie has the executive skills and experience we need to build our sales, marketing and operational presence as we look for innovative ways to address our customer’s most pressing clinical and supply challenges.”
Philip will start with Medline Canada on May 30, 2017, and will be located in Medline’s Mississauga and Milton, Ontario, offices.
