Medline Awarded Lab Distribution Agreement with Premier

By Medline Newsroom Staff | October 22, 2018

Medline has been awarded a group purchasing agreement for lab distribution services with Premier.  Effective January 1, 2019, the new three-year agreement allows Premier members, at their discretion, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for lab distribution services.

Evolving for Today’s Challenges

As health system and hospital executives are increasingly focused on sustainable cost control, clinical labs are being asked to deliver high-quality care with better outcomes at reduced costs.  At the same time, labs are facing staff shortages.

“Critical patient decisions are made every day based on tests conducted in a clinical lab. Medline’s lean, vertically integrated business model offers lab customers compelling financial solutions rooted in customized logistics and access to real-time data,” says Diana LeFebvre, Lab & Diagnostics division president, Medline. “We look forward to collaborating with Premier’s alliance of approximately 4,000 hospitals and 165,000 other providers and organizations invested in helping clinical labs navigate market demands so more dollars and time can be allocated toward patient care.”

From Savings to Strategy

With more than 40 distribution centers strategically located across the country, Medline offers Premier members access to a broad product portfolio from hundreds of manufacturers.  Hospitals, independent labs, and physician office labs have a new distribution option to balance their needs for clinical quality with savings and efficiency.
