Medline announces 2021 ‘EVS Super Star VIP of Clean’ contest

Department managers can nominate an EVS employee to be recognized for their compassion, creativity and dedication

Environmental Services (EVS) teams have always been critical to infection prevention efforts within healthcare organizations, but their roles were elevated in 2020 as the spotlight was on environmental cleaning and sanitation. That’s why Medline is hosting its “EVS Super Star VIP of Clean” contest to recognize EVS employees that are boosting morale, implementing new procedures and expanding training as the frontlines of defense against pathogens.

Through August 15th, department managers can nominate an individual employees as a Super Star. Winners will be announced during The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE)’s EVS Week during the week of September 12. Criteria for nominations include:

      • How does the employee boost housekeeper employee morale?
      • What’s a newly implemented process he/she suggested to be more efficient, reduce infections and improve patient satisfaction?
      • How does the employee offer top notch training/education that’s new or different?
      • How does the employee impact patient/resident satisfaction scores in a positive way?

This is the second year Medline has hosted this program. In 2020, first place recognition went to Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville, Ill., second place was Mercy Health-St. Rita’s in Lima, Ohio and third place went to Lompoc Valley Medical Center in Lompoc, California.
