Recognizing What Works in the Workplace

By Medline Newsroom Staff | November 10, 2017
They often say that a job isn’t work if you like what you do. It seems like a lot of Medline employees agree, as the company appears on the Chicago Tribune’s list of Top 100 Workplaces in the Chicago area for the seventh time. It is 20th out of 100 on the large firms list.
To receive this recognition, a company must demonstrate strict standards for organizational health. The list is determined solely by employee surveys administered by Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics). Everything from work-life balance to confidence in company leadership is assessed. Energage’s research indicates that what’s most important to employees. This includes a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s getting there and knowing that everyone is in it together.
Most importantly, Medline strives to create a work environment that promotes innovation, an entrepreneurial mindset, and career growth within the company. It recognizes that employee efforts drive the company’s growth and success, and have done so over the past 50 years. With their dedicated employees, Medline is able to play a strategic role in helping healthcare systems all across the world to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs with innovative solutions.
In 2016, Medline moved its corporate headquarters to a newly-renovated campus in Northfield, Illinois. Set on 70 acres, the building features advanced technologies to enhance meetings and encourage collaboration. It also includes lifestyle amenities such as a fitness center, basketball court, walking trails and a cafeteria with healthy food options.
