Northwestern Medicine, Providence collaborating with Medline on Mpower™
By Medline Newsroom Staff | September 15, 2025
As Medline continues its march toward the launch of Mpower, the cloud-based, AI-powered supply chain resiliency tool it’s developing with Microsoft, it’s bringing along some prestigious company: two of the leading healthcare systems in the United States.
Northwestern Medicine, with a network of research hospitals, acute care facilities and academic centers across the Chicago region, and Providence, with 51 hospitals across seven Western states, are the first organizations piloting Mpower, which Medline has been developing since first announcing its collaboration with Microsoft.
Slated for release in early 2026, Mpower is built on the Microsoft 365 platform and is being designed as an “AI digital control tower” that Medline Prime Vendor customers can proactively use to designate product substitutions and manage the approvals and communications that go with them. Mpower will pull in inventory data and forecasts from Mpower™ Foundations, Medline’s existing cloud-based risk-profiling and prediction platform for supply chain disruptions, to identify products most at risk of disruption so customers can select clinically appropriate backup choices if they’re ever needed.

“This isn’t just two major customers testing our new solution,” said Dave Kordik, Medline’s vice president of sales and customer technology solutions. “It’s involving them in a product being developed for supply chain by supply chain, giving them direct input into how things are going to work across the industry. We’re doing this together.”
Mpower will be available to Medline Prime Vendor customers currently using Mpower Foundations. Read more about Medline’s supply chain data solutions at Medline.com.
