Medline to Acquire NAMIC brand of fluid management systems from AngioDynamics

Fluid management line to become new Medline division, create additional kitting opportunities and cost-effective custom procedure trays

Medline Industries, Inc. and AngioDynamics, Inc (NASDAQ: ANGO) have announced an agreement for Medline to acquire the N.Y. company’s fluid management line of business, sold under the NAMIC® brand. The acquisition combines the market leadership and brand strength of NAMIC with Medline’s large customer base, distribution scale and medical kitting experience.

NAMIC will become a new division of Medline focused on Cath Lab products and solutions led by Yogesh Wadhera under Group President Jim Pigott.

“NAMIC fluid management is known for its high quality and is a natural fit with our world class portfolio of medical devices and supplies,” said Charlie Mills, chief executive officer of Medline. “Once the acquisition is complete, this partnership will allow us to offer customers expanded choice and cost effective kitting options.”

As part of the acquisition, approximately 330 employees will join Medline. The transaction also includes the Glens Falls, N.Y. facility that manufactures injection molded components and kits for this global business will join Medline. Additionally, fourteen sales reps in the U.S., Canada and Europe will join the Medline sales team.

In a news release, Medline and AngioDynamics noted the sale price at $167.5 million. Medline anticipates the final close of the acquisition this summer, pending regulatory approvals.
