Medline today announced it will be expanding its current Chicagoland footprint, adding 110,000 square feet to its existing office space in the downtown Chicago Merchandise Mart and a 210,000 square foot facility located at 2375 Waterview Drive in Northbrook, just four miles west of its global headquarters in Northfield.

Bringing various teams together, over 1,000 employees will relocate across these two locations, with room for incremental growth.

With the expansion of the Merchandise Mart office space, which first opened in 2022, and the addition of the Northbrook facility, Medline’s footprint across Cook and Lake County will now be more than 3.8 million square feet. In the last five years, Medline has increased the number of jobs in the Chicagoland area by 33% across multiple locations, growing from more than 4,600 local employees at the end of 2019 to nearly 6,100 as of September 1, 2024.

“Just as our customers evaluate and evolve the way they work, Medline regularly optimizes our footprint and operations to best serve our customers and empower our team members,” said Kate Slattery, vice president of real estate and construction for Medline. “As Medline continues to grow, the company is committed to ensuring it has the space needed for employees to thrive, collaborate and feel connected to the culture that has sustained us through the years.”

Medline expects to complete the Merchandise Mart expansion in late Q1 2025 and the Northbrook office in Q2 2025.
