Bringing Care Back to Healthcare: Works of Heart Honors Unit Clerk from Detroit

Tracy Webster exemplifies the “care” underlying the delivery of healthcare

By Medline Newsroom Staff | February 19, 2020

When Virginia Shields, the director of nursing at Hartford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, first learned about Medline’s Works of Heart program, she knew right away who to nominate. The program honors healthcare workers going above and beyond in their role each and every day, and Tracy Webster was the first person Shields had in mind. Webster, a unit clerk at the center, manages clerical duties but always find a way to engage and welcome residents each and every day.

“Tracy is just amazing,” Shields said. “She excels at her clerical duties and everything she does here, but also Tracy is fabulous with the residents and the families in creating a home like environment for our short stay rehab patients here.”

This month Medline is honoring Webster through Works of Heart. Watch the video above to learn more about her story and how she’s helping patients within her center feel even more at home.

Works of Heart will continue honoring healthcare workers like Webster each month throughout the year. An overall winner will be named in January 2021 and become the inspiration behind one of its 2021 collectible dolls.

Nominate a deserving healthcare worker today.
