Demand for Surgical Procedure Trays Leads to Building of New Manufacturing Facility

Expanding need prompts investment in Texas community with hundreds of jobs

By Medline Newsroom Staff | April 26, 2018

The CDC states that 48.3 million surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed during 28.6 million ambulatory surgery visits to hospitals and ASCs combined in 2010. These procedures rely on a wide spectrum of medical supplies, including surgical procedure trays.

Custom surgical procedure trays enable hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to optimize operating room inventory, improve efficiency and drive improved patient outcomes.

In response to this need, Medline opened a new 250,000-square foot manufacturing facility in the Killam Industrial Park in Laredo, Texas. This plant is now one of four Medline facilities in North America specializing in manufacturing surgical procedure trays.
