A few new things to watch when it comes to wound care

Medline seeds 2026 calendar with enhanced skin-health webinars aimed at clinicians in nursing facilities and patients’ homes

Educational opportunities in non-acute healthcare – particularly for clinicians working in nursing homes, long-term care facilities and home settings – typically aren’t as robust as what’s offered in hospitals.

Throughout 2026, Medline is giving these important caregivers more skin in the game.

Starting Jan. 28, members of Medline’s non-acute care clinical nursing team will host a series of “Skin Health Education Summits” – free monthly webinars designed to reach non-acute clinicians with best practices and techniques for using Medline products in wound care. The 2026 lineup consists of four individual three-hour modules, each offered in a quarterly rotation, for a total of 12 sessions, all on Wednesdays.

Webinars on skin health and wound care aren’t new territory for Medline, which began offering this sort of product-linked education several years ago. Clinicians, however, should find this new format fresher, more focused and more fun.

“We split the education up into four key areas, each with its own module,” said Kaila Martin (right), manager for customer success in Medline’s non-acute sales division. “There’s core learning – the basic things you need to know when it comes to applying our products to wound care – as well as specific modules on prevention, intervention and treatment.

“We’ve really revamped what these webinars are, incorporating new knowledge and practices from across the healthcare industry, plus some newer technologies we haven’t really touched on in the past, while also just making the experience more engaging. There are more activities, more case studies, less of our clinicians speaking and more pulling from the audience, asking them about their own experiences and how they’re doing things.”

Clinicians also can expect to see more quiz questions and open-ended chat prompts designed to give the Medline team a window into their thoughts and questions to develop more learning resources down the road.

Although anyone can register to attend any of the webinars, “these summits are really a way for us to connect with a particular segment of customers,” Martin said. “Education in non-acute care can be very limited. In many cases, skills fairs are the extent of what’s available. At many non-acute facilities, wound care ends up falling to a single clinician – the most tenured person with the most experience. With these modules, we’re using our products and solutions to try to help build the knowledge base for everyone else.”

And no worries if you miss a desired module early in the year.

“You’ll have two more opportunities, every four months in 2026,” Martin said. “It’ll come around again.”
