Milestone moment in suburban Chicago as Medline facility turns 50
By Medline Newsroom Staff | September 18, 2025
Call it a high water mark at a facility that processes so much of it.
State and village officials and Medline employees joined company leaders Friday for an outdoor “birthday party” for Medline’s facility in Arlington Heights, Ill., outside Chicago. The site opened in 1975 and operated until 2022 under Teleflex, from which Medline acquired a significant portion of the Hudson RCI® brand of respiratory products that year as it committed to growing its respiratory care offerings.
Today, a team of about 80 employees works at the Arlington Heights location, using a reverse osmosis process to produce sterilized water for nebulizers and as an ingredient in other Medline products. Many of these employees joined Medline through the 2022 acquisition, including several with 20 or more years of experience at the site and two with 44 years, having started there in 1981.

Medline CEO Jim Boyle and Nicole Krpan, general manager of respiratory care, recognized the longest-tenured employees with special service awards as part of the celebration, which included lunch, speeches, birthday cake and tours of the facility.
“For this facility and its people to continue to play such an important role in healthcare after 50 years is quite an achievement,” Boyle said. “Everything Medline does comes down to its people, serving our customers and making healthcare run better. This location became a part of that mission the moment it became part of Medline several years ago, and we’re so appreciative of the great work that happens here.”

“Fifty years is a long time – a long time to be on the planet, but a really long time for any village to have a business like this,” Tinaglia said. “If not for all of you doing what you do every day, that would not happen. My thanks to all of you doing all that you do, keeping all of us working together for the common good.”
